Tour de Corse 2017

Domani inizia il Tour de Corse 2017, 4a gara del WRC.

So che è un argomento che interessa a pochi appassionati di rally, ma il rally della Corsica per me ha un fascino secondo forse solo al rally di Montecarlo. E' un classico del WRC e quest'anno ha un plateau di partecipanti di grande interesse (13 le vetture classe WRC in gara, con 4 case ufficiali o semiufficiali: Toyota, Citroen, Ford M-Sport, Hyundai).

L'interesse è elevato tra gli appassionati in Italia anche perchè ci sarà un italiano, il 24enne Fabio Andolfi, con una Hyundai WRC2 finanziata tra l'altro dal programma ACI, che dovrebbe lottare per le prime posizioni appunto della WRC2, categoria che vedrà nuovamente al via, dopo il vittorioso Montecarlo, il fortissimo Mikkelsen, ex pilota ufficiale Volkswagen WRC.

Nella categoria R-GT due grandi campioni torneranno a sfidarsi dopo Montecarlo: Dumas (Porsche 911 Gt3) e Delecour (Abarth 124 rally). Una sfida da cardiopalmo.

Ultim'ora, Andolfi non ci sarà! Colpito da una colica renale, ha rinunciato alla gara. Il suo programma nel WRC2 inizierà quindi in Portogallo.

Ci sarà invece, sempre nel WRC2, Simone Tempestini, alla guida di una Citroen DS3 R5.

Camilli in forte ritardo (era 2° WRC2): ha perso circa 14 minuti, poi vedremo perchè. Dopo le 2 PS vinte da Meeke, anche Ogier vince una prova, appunto la 3a, con 8 decimi sul pilota della Citroen.

In RGT sempre in testa Romain Dumas (Porsche 911) davanti a Delecour (Abarth 124), 21° e 28° assoluti. Dumas ha preso un certo vantaggio, segno che su queste strade gli oltre 400 cv della Porsche, guidata magistralmente dal campione del mondo WEC, si fanno sentire.

It was OK, I was struggling a bit with my rhythm and it’s hard to see where it’s dirty. I need to improve the times, the handling of the car is a bit better.

40. LOUBET / LANDAIS – FORD FIESTA R5 (dopo PS2)
"I don’t have any more brakes at the rear of the car. The brakes pedal is just loose. I don’t have any luck on Tour de Corse. Next service is tonight in Bastia, I don’t know if I can continue."

22. DELECOUR / SAVIGNONI – ABARTH 124 RALLY (dopo PS2)
I’m having engine troubles.

Il pilota della 124 Abarth lamenta quindi problemi di motore, nella terza prova infatti ha perso diversi secondi. Speriamo che vengano risolti. Peraltro è la prima volta che la vettura mostra questo tipo di problema (a parte qualcosa da parte di Riolo).

Neuville vince anche la prova 6 (doppietta con Sordo) e scavalca Ogier nella overall! Ora è a 1 secondo e mezzo da Meeke, solo 9° nell'ultima prova

Meeke ha annunciato un imminente ritiro: problemi di motore alla sua Citroen!
Neuville quindi diventa il favorito per la vittoria.

La prova 7 è stata vinta da Ogier, davanti a Latvala e Neuville, che ora comanda la corsa con appena 2 secondi di vantaggio su Ogier dopo 7 speciali e oltre 2 ore e mezza di gara. Viene dato per definitivamente ritirato Meeke. Vediamo se anche Evans sarà costretto al ritiro.

RGT: per la prima volta nella PS6 Delecour (Abarth 124) è stato più veloce di Dumas (Porsceh 911). Ora sono 18° Dumas e 25° Delecour e sempre 1° e 2° nella RGT. .

La lunghissima prova n.7 (ben 48 km) è stata completata anche dalle RGT, e Delecour (Abarth 124, 20°) questa volta ha rifilato ben 40 secondi a Dumas (Porsche 911, 21°), segno che ha trovato un assetto ottimale, anche se indubbiamente Dumas non sta più tirando come prima avendo ancora un buon vantaggio. Ora sono 19° Dumas e 20° Delecour nella ovarall, e davanti hanno solo WRC e WRC2.

Ogier nella PS8 (dove è giunto 9°) ha perso 36" su Neuville per un problema all'idroguida.

Domani ultimo giorno (2 PS), con collegamento Sky sport canale 205 in occasione dell'ultima prova, la "Power stage". Dovrebbe essere alle ore 12.15 circa.
