Chevy Tahoe con filtro KN

Buona sera, ho messo un filtro KN nella mia macchina e i consumi sono aumentati molto (non problem perche quá la benzina e gratis) pero pure la macchina se viene accellerata a fondo e molto piú lenta, come se si affogassi, sará che si deve riprogrammare la centralina??? (scusate il mio poco italiano) grazie

Hi there, I assume like me you live in the US (where fuel is free, as you said).

The KN filters are impregnated with oil, unlike standard paper filters that are dry.
It is not uncommon that the oil eventually damages the MAF sensor, giving false air intake readings to the ECU, hence cutting of fuel and reducing power.
KN filters are a good addition to sport cars that have been properly prepped to utilize them (ECU tune up, MAF adjustment). Installed in isolation they provide exaclty 0 bhp improvement.

Most likely, you need a new MAF sensor (Mass Air Flow)
