Dopo una ricca cena e un?ottima bottiglia di vino, si ritirano in tenda e si addormentano profondamente. A un certo punto della notte Holmes si sveglia e scuote l?amico.

«Vedo milioni e milioni di stelle, Holmes».
«E cosa ne deducete?» chiede Holmes.
Watson riflette a lungo e poi replica:
«Beh, da un punto di vista astronomico, questo mi fa pensare che ci sono nel cielo milioni di galassie e quindi, potenzialmente, miliardi di pianeti. Da un punto di vista astrologico, mi fa osservare che Saturno è in Leone. Da un punto di vista orario, guardando la Luna, ne deduco che sono circa le 3:15. Da un punto di vista meteorologico, mi aspetto che domani avremo una bellissima giornata. Da un punto di vista teologico, mi fa capire che Dio è Potenza Infinita e che noi siamo solo una piccolissima e insignificante parte
dell?Universo. Ma perchè me lo chiedete? Cosa suggerisce a voi tutto questo?»
Holmes rimane un attimo in silenzio e poi esclama: «Che ci hanno fregato la tenda!»

?There's a dentist here he's 90 years old who hasn't fixed a tooth for 25 years and everyone still calls him 'The Doctor'.

?As for me I haven't had sex for 35 years and they still call me 'The Fucking Arab'.
